But it's really not a new concept. In fact, the first tool library started in Berkeley in 1979.

Tool libraries are run a little bit differently in different cities.

The one in Atlanta, for example, loans only tools to non-profit organizations. And the one in Columbus, OH is on wheels.

Some are run by the public library. Others are run by the city.
