Ultimate Guide to Oil Changes: BYO Car
This hands-on seminar goes in depth with the importance of the vehicle’s lubrication system and teaches students how to perform the most important maintenance item on every standard vehicle: changing the oil! Four students will bring their personal vehicles and will receive active guidance from local mechanic Ash Lamoreaux on the steps needed to drain the oil, change the oil filter, and refill the engine with the proper grade and capacity. These students will take the reins on the repair, using provided tools and mentorship. Six additional students will observe the process and then will team together to change the oil on a provided vehicle. Ash and other guest speakers will discuss important topics including: different types and grades of motor oil, safe jacking points and how to use ramps safely, maintenance schedules and resetting oil reminder lights, environmental concerns with oil spills and disposal, and so much more. You don’t want to miss this comprehensive, step-by-step tutorial on one of the most DIY friendly repairs in the car world. PLEASE NOTE: There are two ticket options for this class. This ticket is for people who are taking the class and ARE learning how to perform an oil change on their own vehicle during the class. People that purchase this ticket will be put into contact with the instructor and asked to purchase motor oil and an oil filter for their specific vehicle. The cost of this class is flexible.
