Build Your Own Custom Shelf

Join us to learn how to build your own custom shelf and mount it securely! Particleboard shelves are expensive and are not very robust - they are easily damaged and can't hold much weight. This hands-on woodworking workshop teaches participants how to build simple honeycomb shelves using 1x4 lumber. Students will learn basic woodworking techniques, including using a miter saw, and how to assemble hexagonal shelves with wood glue and finish nails. This is a hands-on class - so get ready to get your hands dirty and try something new at the West Philly Tool Library! The cost of this class is flexible. West Philly Tool Library is committed to keeping our classes affordable and accessible to as many people as possible. Per our policy, for cancellation requests received at least one week before the class, we will issue a credit towards a future class. We are unable to guarantee credit for cancellation requests received less than seven days before the date of the class, although we will do our best to accommodate late cancellations if we are able to fill your spot.
