Create an Heirloom End Grain Cutting Board

Build your own heirloom-quality end grain cutting board in this hands-on woodworking class at the West Philly Tool Library. Students will learn wood selection, milling, glue-up techniques, safe table saw and planer operation, pattern layout, sanding, and food-safe finishing while crafting a custom cutting board to take home. Along the way, we’ll explore why end grain cutting boards are considered the gold standard in the kitchen — offering exceptional durability, a self-healing cutting surface, and a knife-friendly design that helps keep blades sharper longer. All tools and materials are provided. This is a hands-on class - so get ready to get your hands dirty and try something new at the West Philly Tool Library! The cost of this class is flexible.
